How much time do we spend worrying about what others think of us? External views can influence our decisions, our choice of clothes, how we behave in society. Until recently, I literally felt these views on myself and went through life with a feeling of constant control. But you know what I realized?
I no longer care what others think of me! This moment was a turning point and refreshing for me, like a breath of air after a long stay under water.
One day I stopped and asked myself an important question: "How many years have I spent trying to please everyone around me and expect approval? What have I missed because of this?" I realized that my decisions were often not mine, but depended on how others would evaluate me. All this "advice" from friends and family, "hints" from colleagues - this is also only their perception of reality, and it does not necessarily have to become mine.
1. Learn to say "no".
When I first started acting for myself, I noticed that sometimes we agree to do things only because we are afraid to refuse others. We do not want to offend, do not want to look incompetent or unkind. But when I learned to refuse, I realized that this does not make me worse at all. On the contrary, I finally began to value my time and feelings.
2. Find your rhythm and style.
For so long I tried to "be like everyone else" - wear the same dresses, work at the same pace, spend weekends according to a template... Until I decided: why not change it? Having studied what I like, I began to enjoy what I do much more, without looking back at the opinions of others.
3. Listen to yourself and your feelings.
Miracles began to happen when I paid attention to what my body tells me and how I feel. The principles of other people's standards and ideals now fade into the background. Only after that I began to think: why did I previously strive to "please" everyone?
When you start thinking and acting in your own way, you launch a completely different flow of energy in yourself. You stop limiting yourself. Of course, sometimes you need to take into account the opinions of loved ones, but if you are confident in your path, you will definitely feel the very freedom you were striving for!
