Why is it so difficult to combine family and work?
The reason for the conflict between career and family is the limited time and resources. Work requires effort, concentration and time, and family requires attention, love and participation. The constant feeling that someone or something is not getting enough of your energy can cause stress and guilt. To find balance, it is important to stop striving for the ideal. Everything in life is cyclical: there are periods when you need to focus on work, and there are periods when you need to focus on family. And this is normal. Determine your priorities.
What is more important to you at this stage of life? It happens that career goals require more time, but at the same time you can compensate for this with quality time with loved ones. Or, on the contrary, pay more attention to your family if they need you now. Make a list of what is important to you and allocate your time accordingly. Learn to delegate. At work, do not be afraid to delegate tasks to colleagues or employees. At home, involve family members in everyday affairs. You do not have to do everything yourself. Joint efforts not only relieve you, but also strengthen family ties. Examples of successful combination. Planning. Use the calendar to set aside time for important events: a child's school performance, a family dinner, or a meeting with work partners.
Rituals. Breakfasts with the whole family before work or walks on weekends become bonding moments that strengthen relationships.
Open communication. Discuss your work plans with your family so that they understand your workload, and agree on joint moments. Why is this important?
Family and career are two important parts of life that should not compete. Having learned to balance between them, you can feel fulfilled, happy and full of energy. Yours, Maria.
