My mornings used to be chaotic: my alarm clock would be delayed 3-4 times, breakfast on the run, a quick scroll through social media, and the day would start with a rush. But one day I decided to change my approach and create a morning routine that would energize me, not exhaust me.
Here's what really worked:
Getting up without procrastination.
I've stopped hitting the “procrastinate” button and get up right away as soon as my alarm clock rings. To make it easier, I put my phone away from the bed.
A glass of water first thing in the morning.
It's a small thing, but it helps the body “wake up” and starts the metabolism.
No social media for the first 30 minutes.
I used to immediately grab my phone and get lost in my newsfeed. Now instead, I give my morning to myself.
Movement.
Even 10 minutes of warm-up or yoga does wonders for my body and my mood. Sometimes I replace it with a brisk walk.
Calm breakfast.
Now I don't eat in a rush, but savor every meal. Breakfast has become a little morning ritual for me.
Planning the day.
Before I start work, I write down my top 3 tasks for the day. This helps me keep my focus and not overwhelm myself.
After making this change, I started to feel calmer and more organized. Try introducing at least one new element into your morning and you'll feel the difference!
