Or maybe it's not, and it's all just human curiosity. I don't mind people talking about you, but sometimes I want it to happen not according to the principle of "a woman in a man's world", but rather "a woman who knows what she's doing". And yes, I like being an engineer. It's my profession, my passion and my world.
Can I work with a male engineer? Of course. And would you like to work with a woman? Because, you know, some men think that interacting with women in a professional environment can be a little awkward. Maybe they are afraid that some part of the work will be connected with emotions, or, on the contrary, that their professionalism will be questioned simply because they see me as a woman. But I assure you, it's nothing personal, it's just a myth. We work on business and for business, without unnecessary worries. Respect is what matters, and the rest is a matter of experience and skills.
As for my working day, it is quite ordinary. In the morning - a cup of coffee, checking tasks, planning and moving on to action. At lunch - colleagues, discussions and, perhaps, a short break for fresh air. But, you know, at some point we all become part of a team, and it does not matter who you are - a man or a woman. The main thing is that you can do your job at the highest level, that your colleagues can rely on you, and you - on them.
Now, as for my appearance. In the corporate world, it is accepted for women to dress modestly, "like a man." Well, let's say this way, I am not one of those who hide their individuality. Nothing extravagant, but yes, sometimes I can afford more than is accepted in strict corporate rules. One dress can convey much more than I could express in words. This, of course, does not mean that I show everyone my "triumphant beauty." No. I just feel comfortable like this. I think of it more as a manifestation of my inner world, a small holiday that I can allow myself at any time.
Sometimes I wonder: maybe this is the sin of vanity? But I realize that being a woman is not a sin, but a gift. And yes, I accept this gift. I enjoy life, the world, myself. Do you also accept your qualities? It is so important to be sincere with yourself.
How do you look at a female engineer? After all, it is not only professionalism and knowledge, but also responsibility and the ability to interact with people, despite their stereotypes. I believe that in any area, be it work, personal relationships or communication, not only experience is important, but also respect, the desire to understand and accept each other as we are. We are all different, but each of us deserves to be heard.
I will be glad to hear your opinion.
