Valentine's day for loners: how to enjoy the holiday without a couple
id: 10055630

Instead of sad and worrying how many of us do on this day, let's look at several ways to make on February 14 special for ourselves, even if you do not have a couple.

1. Time for yourself

No matter how trite it sounds, Valentine's Day is a great occasion to spend time and money on yourself. Turn yourself to something that will bring pleasure and joy. It can be:

- Spa treatments or a trip to the beauty salon (for example, manicure, massage, skin care).
-Buy yourself something that you have long wanted, whether it be a new book, beautiful clothes or something for the home that will create comfort.
- Enjoy your favorite dishes. You can order food at home or prepare something special for yourself. For example, dinner in the style of "I am a chef for myself", with my favorite dishes, desserts and drinks. Valentine's Day is a great opportunity to give yourself joy. And who said that gifts need to be given only to another person?

2. Spend a day with friends

If you do not have a partner, this does not mean that you should spend this day alone. Talk to your friends - perhaps they are also not in a relationship, and you can have fun together.

You can organize:

- Party in the style of "Anti-Romantic". At such a party in an atmosphere of humor and fun, everyone will be able to relax, forget about the obsessive ideas of a romantic relationship and simply enjoy communication.
- View comedy films that will cheer up and give a charge of positive.
- A joint trip to a restaurant or cafe where you can have lunch or dinner in a good company. Spending time with friends, especially on this day, is very important. Real friendship is no less value than love.

3. Take care of something new and interesting

This day is ideal in order to devote it to its hobbies and personal development. Perhaps there is something that you did not have enough time on weekdays. Valentine's Day can be a great reason:

-Sign up for a master class or course according to some exciting occupation. It can be cooking, painting, yoga or learning a foreign language.
- Visit a museum or exhibition that I wanted to go for a long time, but everything somehow did not work out.
- To go in for sports or fitness, because physical activity helps not only maintain form, but also improve mood. When you do something that brings joy and satisfaction, even loneliness becomes not so terrible.

4. Give a new familiar ritual for yourself

It is customary to think that Valentine's Day is an exclusively holiday for couples. But why not use this day to create new, positive habits that will delight you in the future?

- Get a diary of gratitude. Write down all the positive points and things for which you are grateful in your life.
- Start practice meditation or gratitude. Such practices develop a sense of calm and satisfaction.
- Make it a special day for self -reflection: what goals you want to achieve next year, what is important for you now, and what makes you happy. This day can be a start for many positive changes in your life.

5. Celebrate love for yourself

Love for oneself is the basis for building a healthy relationship with other people. Valentine's Day is a great moment to accept yourself as you are. Here are a few ideas, how to do it:

- Spend time alone with you, having arranged a “day of care of yourself”: do what fills you with energy and joy.
- Talk to you with kind words. Often we criticize ourselves for little things, but it is important to remember our value and strong qualities.
- Write a letter to yourself, in which you will thank yourself for all achievements, for courage and self -improvement.

Valentine's Day is a reminder that love is important not only in relations with other people, but also in relations with oneself.
