He wrote that he likes to travel? Can you imagine you walking together through the narrow streets of Paris. He said that he is romantic? In your head there are already scenes with flowers, kisses in the rain and passionate looks. But will this be reality when you meet?

The truth is that letters are only a part of a person. They don’t have his look when he’s angry, there’s no nervous hand movement when he’s worried, there’s no little habits that might seem cute or annoying. They only have what he wants to show you. And what you want to see in him.

The first meeting is the moment of truth. That’s when illusions disappear, and the real person remains. Sometimes he’s even better than the one you’ve drawn for yourself. And sometimes he’s completely different. That’s why it’s so important not to just wait for the perfect fairy tale, but to be ready to get to know the real him. Without filters. Without embellishments.

I’m not saying that you should doubt every word he says. But you should remember that true love isn’t built only on letters. It’s born in looks, touches, shared moments. And only when you’re together in the real world will you understand: he’s the one you’ve been waiting for. Or not. And that’s okay too.
