I always thought that true feelings are about struggle. If you love, you need to hold on, overcome difficulties, find compromises. But what to do when at one point you realize: you are fighting alone?
I had love. The same one that makes your heart skip a beat, and then catch up with it in an accelerated rhythm. We could talk for hours about everything in the world, laugh to tears at stupid jokes, walk around the night city when all normal people have long been asleep. It seemed that this was what I was looking for.
But one day I noticed that everything had changed. His messages became shorter, his calls less frequent, and meetings... But there were almost none. At first I wrote it off as fatigue, work, and busyness. Then I started finding excuses where there shouldn't be any. "He's just going through a difficult period." "Maybe it's temporary." "I know he loves me."
I started to fight. To invest even more, to write first, to propose meetings, to try to return the ease that was in the beginning. But it was like swimming against the current - the more strength I spent, the more it carried me back.
And here the question arises: when is it worth letting go? When to stop looking for excuses and admit that if it is important for a person to be there, they will be there? I did not want to accept this fact for a long time. For a long time I consoled myself with illusions. But one day I just woke up and realized: I am tired.
Tired of dragging something that has long ceased to be mutual. Tired of waiting for him to "find the time". Tired of pretending that I am satisfied with these half-relationships. I allowed myself to let go. It was not easy. But when you finally let go, you realize that true love is not about the struggle. It is about two people who choose each other every day. Without excuses. Without coercion. Simply because they are good together.
Have you ever found yourself in such a situation? To fight or to let go - what is more correct for you?
