Pancake Paradise - Thin, golden pancakes symbolize the sun. People eat them all week long with honey, berries, sour cream, and other goodies. It’s a foodie’s paradise!
Sledding and Snow Battles – Traditional fun includes sledding, power games, and even throwing men into snowdrifts! (Yes, if a girl knocked you into the snow, she might be interested)
Flirting and Matchmaking – Maslenitsa was once a time for dating and engagement. Couples would meet, flirt, and some would even get married right away!
Big Bonfire – At the end of Maslenitsa, we burn a big effigy of winter to say goodbye to the cold and open our hearts to new beginnings.
