Women make history, although history remembers only men's names.
id: 10052353

Women made discoveries, were inspired by exploits, wrote books, changed society - but their names appear in textbooks less often than they would have. Why? For a long time, their contributions were considered "unofficial" - hidden behind men's backs, in the shadow of kings, scientists, politicians. But can we forget Hypatia of Alexandria - a philosopher and mathematician whose knowledge cost her her life? Or Rosalind Franklin, without whose work the discovery of DNA would not have happened? And can anyone remember the women who stand behind the scenes of great scientists, military strategies and social reforms?
History loves men, but the world we live in was not created only by them. It's time to speak out: women are not just participants in history - they are its authors. And now let their names sound just as loudly.
