Crimea (South Coast)

Until 2014, Crimea was one of the most popular resort regions of Ukraine. The southern coast of Crimea is famous for its subtropical climate: winters are mild (temperatures rarely fall below 0°C), and summers are warm and long (average temperature +25…+30°C). Thanks to the mountains that protect the coast from cold winds, grapes, figs and other southern crops are grown here.

Odessa region

Odessa and its environs are one of the warmest regions of mainland Ukraine. Summer here lasts from May to September, the average temperature in summer is +25°C, and in winter it rarely drops below -2°C. Thanks to the Black Sea, the climate is milder and more humid than in other southern regions. Popular resort areas are Zatoka, Karolino-Bugaz, Koblevo.

Kherson region

Kherson region is famous for its dry and hot climate. Summer here can be very hot (+30…+35°C), and winter is mild (on average -1…-3°C). This is one of the sunniest regions of Ukraine, ideal for growing fruits, vegetables and grapes. There are also picturesque resorts on the Black and Azov Seas, such as Lazurne and Zhelezny Port.

Zaporizhia region

Zaporizhia and the coast of the Azov Sea are also among the warmest regions of the country. Summer here lasts long, and winter is mild. The Azov Sea is shallow, so it warms up faster, creating comfortable conditions for rest. Popular resorts are Kirillovka, Berdyansk, Primorsk.

Mykolaiv region

Mykolaiv region is another region with a warm climate. Summers are hot (+27…+33°C), and winters are relatively mild (-2…-5°C). This is a region with a large number of sunny days per year, which makes it suitable for both agriculture and recreation.

Conclusion

If you want to live in a warm region of Ukraine, pay attention to the southern regions - Odessa, Kherson, Zaporizhia and Mykolaiv. They have a mild climate and a large number of sunny days. However, the most comfortable conditions for life and recreation will always be near the sea coast, where the climate is softened by the sea breeze and high humidity.
