How often do we fall in love with dreams that seem unattainable? Fall in love with people who don't notice us. Desire a job that we don't yet have enough experience for. We want a life that belongs to someone else.
But what if it's not about the objects of desire themselves, but about ourselves? We like the struggle, the excitement, the overcoming. When the goal becomes available, the interest fades.
Maybe instead of chasing the unattainable, we should stop and see what is already there? After all, sometimes happiness is closer than it seems.
