Here are 3 techniques that have really helped me get things moving:
The2-minute ruleIf it takes less than 2 minutes to do something, do it right away. Writing an email, answering a text, writing down an idea - these are the little things that hang heavy on us.
The Tomato Technique25 minutes of focus, 5 minutes of rest. It's amazingly disciplining, and the brain sees the task as “temporary” rather than “endless”. Tip: set a timer and put your phone away.
Lists not for the day, but for 3 tasksPick 3 main tasks of the day and focus only on them. The rest is a bonus. This relieves the feeling of being overwhelmed and gives you a sense of victory at the end of the day.
Try one of these ways and you'll be surprised how easy it is to take back control.
Go for it, in small steps!
