The brightest holiday of the year is approaching — Easter.

For some, it’s just a day off with delicious pastries, for others, it’s a deeply spiritual holiday, and for my family, it’s everything at once: warmth, food, and a little chaos in aprons.

Preparation: Mission “Easter”
First, the house is cleaned. So much so that even the closet where dusty Christmas tree decorations live gets its moment of glory. Grandma says:
— Everything should shine on Easter! Even the radiator under the windowsill, which no one has seen since 2003!

Next, the kitchen turns into a laboratory. Easter cakes, Easter cakes, cheese Easter cakes, 48 eggs for painting, and more “just in case.” Each family member gets a task: dad boils eggs, mom bakes, kids paint, grandpa tastes (many times — to be sure).

Traditions and family vibe
What I especially like is the feeling that we are all together. At the same table, with the aromas of vanilla and cinnamon, with jokes, reminders "don't touch it, it will cool down!" and discussions about whose paskha "rose better" this year.

Then we all go to the blessing of the Easter cakes, stand in line, where everyone knows each other, smiles, wishes goodness and peace. Even neighbors, with whom you might not say hello on a normal day, suddenly become almost relatives.

Easter — the light inside
Easter is not only painted eggs and rich Easter cakes. It is light. Joy. The feeling of something good and real that comes into the house along with the aroma of freshly baked Easter cakes and the voice of grandma, who says:
— Christ is risen, children!

And even if the world sometimes looks like an egg that fell from the windowsill, on such days it seems: everything can be glued together, everything is fixable, everything is for the best.

May this bright holiday bring you warmth, hope, comfort and more delicious things! And, if anything, we still have three more Easter cakes, so come visit.
