In our modern world, it is much easier to judge than to understand. Often we don't go into details, we don't try to get to the heart of the situation, and we immediately seek to blame. And this is becoming the norm. Instead of allowing everyone to express their point of view, we try to impose our own, believing it to be the only correct one. This reflects a deep social problem - we are afraid to accept opinions that do not match our beliefs.
Why does this happen? Because being confronted with many different points of view creates fear. Fear of losing one's confidence, of losing control, even if they are just different views of the same reality. We are used to having everything in our environment be “according to us”. It's hard to accept that someone can think and act differently. It's not so much ignorance as it is fear of change, fear of being disappointed in our ideas. And how often do we encounter a situation where our position is not just an opinion, but almost a sacred truth?
In fact, every person has the right to make mistakes. It is normal to make mistakes, and no one is immune to it. We should learn to allow others to be imperfect. Instead of looking for excuses for their views and behavior, maybe we should learn to listen. Maybe it is tolerance, the ability to accept others' mistakes, views, desires and feelings, that will be the key that opens the door to greater understanding and respect between people?
We are afraid of losing our rightness, but perhaps the ability to recognize others' mistakes and the right to our own opinion will be what will make us stronger. Wouldn't you agree?
