So I've decided I'm done chasing this “perfect life.” Because, frankly, it's only beautiful in pictures. In reality, happiness is not when you have everything on Pinterest. Happiness is when you laugh with your friends until you cry, when you find a forgotten candy bar in your pocket, or when you just feel like you belong.
I've started to appreciate my “non-ideal” moments. For example, yesterday I tried to make pasta, but the sauce came out too salty. My sister and I ate it anyway and laughed because it was so our way. Or here's another thing: I stopped worrying about not having time for everything in the world. If I didn't go to the gym today, but I saw a great movie, that's okay too.
My new motto is to live for myself, not for ticking boxes. Buy flowers just for fun, dance in the kitchen while dinner is cooking, and don't compare my life to other people's. Because my life is my story, with all its rough edges. And I love it.
What is “real” life to you? What moments make you happy? Tell me, I'm really looking forward to hearing your stories!
