It was a chilly morning when I missed my train. I stared angrily at the scoreboard until he sat next to me - tall, in a gray coat, with coffee in his hand and some incredible calm aura.
We struck up a casual conversation. He joked about my upset face, and I smiled. What followed was a conversation like we'd known each other for a thousand years. I don't know what he looked like completely, I didn't even ask his name.
Twelve minutes later his train pulled up. He stood up, looked at me and said:
- Sometimes fate only gives you one chance. Don't be late for the next train.
And he left. I stood looking after him, feeling strangely empty and inspired at the same time. Since then, I've never been late again... and I always look around, waiting for another chance.
