Friday before Easter
id: 10056712

The Friday before Easter is a special day for me. It’s when the house smells clean, fresh bread and a little vanilla. Since the very morning, my mother has been vacuuming, my grandmother has been washing the windows, and I’m scrubbing the floor until it shines. This is not just cleaning — it’s cleansing before the holiday.
In Poltava region, we have always prepared our house for Easter with love. We throw away old things, wash all the dishes, even those we don’t use. It’s like renewing our lives before spring.
I love this process. It unites us, and even the smallest ones help. After all the chores, there’s tea with lemon and conversations in the kitchen. We remember what it was like in childhood, who wrote which Easter eggs. And it’s so nice when the house is cozy and clean.
Everything is filled with peace and warmth. This is how a real holiday begins — with simple things.
