Even when there are a lot of things to do at home, I try not to fuss. For me, this is not just preparation for Easter, but a kind of cleansing. I not only wash windows and clean out the closets, I try to put my soul in order as well.
I remove resentments, forget about old quarrels, forgive myself for mistakes. Wednesday is a time to remember what is important and what is not. I like to light a candle and just look at its flame for a few minutes. It seems to me that it burns away the excess, leaving only light.
On this day, I am more silent than I speak. I write short notes with wishes for loved ones and hide them in an Easter basket. Then we read them together - like a secret correspondence with the heart.
A real holiday is born in such simple things.
