If a girl doesn't wear makeup, she thinks too highly of herself.

It seems banal, but it makes you think. You must admit that many times we hear or even say: "Well, she doesn't wear makeup - it means she doesn't need anyone to notice her." And you can also often come across the opinion that if a girl doesn't use makeup, it means she doesn't want to waste time on "little things," doesn't take care of herself, and therefore considers herself too special to need such "insignificant" things as makeup.

Is this really true?

In fact, not always. Girls who don't wear makeup can simply be confident in their natural beauty and don't need additional accents. This, of course, is not about them considering themselves "above everyone else." It's about choice. They can feel comfortable without lipstick or mascara, without wanting to please other people's beauty standards. They may well know what they look like without makeup and be happy with this reflection in the mirror.

Yes, makeup is a powerful tool for self-expression. It helps to hide flaws, highlight advantages, and create the desired image. But for some girls (and guys, by the way), the absence of makeup is a manifestation of self-confidence. It can even be a protest against the standards imposed by society. And if a girl decides not to use makeup, this does not mean that she values herself too highly. It means that she knows who she is and does not feel the need to "transform" herself for someone.

The point is that the choice of makeup is not an indicator of self-esteem. Beauty in any form - with or without makeup - is subjective. And if someone feels like they are arrogant about not wearing makeup, then maybe they don't understand how important it is to be comfortable in your own skin, not be dependent on external factors, and feel good enough without adding makeup. So maybe it's time to stop judging by appearances and think that true confidence isn't about makeup, it's about accepting yourself for who you are.
