Love is like a taxi on Friday night
Waiting for the "man of your life" is like trying to catch the perfect taxi at night in the rain: theoretically possible, but most likely the one "on the way" will arrive. And it seems like it's not your brand, and the music in the car is strange, but you have to go.
And you stand there, so beautiful, with faith in fate and mascara in the rain. And then you're like: okay, I'll go with this one. Not the one I dreamed of, but at least with heated seats.
Marry? No problem
Getting married is not the end of a fairy tale, it's more like a break in anticipation. Like ordering a pizza while you're waiting for your dream restaurant. Or getting a cat because he'll definitely remember your anniversary.
Sometimes it's a conscious choice. Sometimes it's a romantic rebellion: "What if he's the one?" (Spoiler: not always.)
And then...
You're sitting there, married, with a glass of something dry and looking into infinity, and life is like, "Hi, here he is, your perfect one. Only he seems a little late. About seven years."
And you've already learned how to fry cutlets, remove your husband's slippers from the aisle, and pretend that you're genuinely interested in how his day at work went. And then you have to decide: wait some more, change seats, or leave everything as is and just order a second glass of wine.
Conclusion?
You can wait for "the one." You even should. But life is a fast thing, sometimes you have to travel on transfers. The main thing is not to lose your sense of humor and yourself. And if you're lucky, that same person will not only come on time, but also deliver coffee.
