I started with clothes. I dumped EVERYTHING on the bed, even that dress for going out that had been hanging since last summer. I asked each thing two questions, Have I worn this in the last year? and Does it bring me joy? Everything that didn’t pass the test went in a bag.
It turned out that I needed 5 times less things than I thought! Only comfortable and favorite things were left. Now the morning begins without the painful choice of clothes, I like everything in the closet and it suits me.
Then it was the kitchen’s turn. I left 4 plates, 2 pots and one good knife instead of a whole arsenal. And you know what? Cooking has become more enjoyable! No need to sort through a bunch of dishes, everything is at hand. The main discovery is that every extra thing takes our energy. To clean it, search for it, wash it. Now I have more free time, less cleaning, and the house is light and tidy. Try starting with one cabinet, the result will surprise you.
