But everything changed. At first, out of stupidity. My back hurts, the doctor says: "I need muscles." Then out of curiosity. And then because it became my time. No talking, no tasks. Just me, a mirror and dumbbells.
I didn't become a "fitness girl" in electric-blue leggings. I still get confused by the names of exercise machines. But I realized that sports are not about the result in a photo, but about inner strength that becomes habitual.
Sometimes I just come to walk on the treadmill and listen to music. Sometimes I'm eager to fight. Sometimes I stand in front of the mirror, look at myself and think: "This is what you are like. The real you. No excuses."
And I like how my attitude towards myself changes. With each approach, with each morning stretch. The gym has ceased to be a place of "must", it has become a place of "want".
If you are afraid to start, that's normal. If you think that everyone around you "already knows how" and you don't, just start with yourself. Sport is not about ideal forms, it is about supporting yourself. Really.
With sweat, fatigue and gratitude,
