But let's be honest: money is not happiness.
Happiness is when you have delivery today before 18:00.
Here you are walking sad, tired, the world is gray, like Monday without coffee... and then - pow! - a notification: "Your parcel is already with the courier." And that's it! Life has found meaning again. Sadness goes away, and you can already imagine how tomorrow you will walk around in new sneakers, as if you were filming an advertisement.
The money on the card melts like ice cream in the sun. But now you have:
– new headphones,
– a mug with a cat,
– an anti-stress pillow (which, by the way, doesn’t help anymore, because you’ve gone into debt again),
– and, of course, the feeling that you’re still alive, and not just existing.
And someone will say:
– It’s all material, fleeting, happiness is inside us!
And I’ll say:
– There’s emptiness and an advertisement for the next sale inside me. Leave me with my basket!
No, I’m not for crazy consumption. It’s just that sometimes one little thing – a pair of socks with dinosaurs or a useless but charming cactus in a pot – can pull us out of the routine.
This is not escapism. This is a little therapy.
Shopping therapy.
And let them say that you can’t buy happiness. You can!
Only it comes with a tracking number and is sometimes late.
