Working as an operator at a gas station, I saw all sorts of things. But once there was a moment that I will never forget. A man comes in, serious, in a suit, with a very pompous look. He comes up to me and says: "I need gas... the one without meat."
I stand like that and think — is this a joke or did I just imagine it? I asked: "Without what?" And he said again, seriously: "Well, without meat. You have lead-free, right?" And then I couldn't help but laugh. He realized what he said and laughed too.
We couldn't stop for another half a minute. He left with coffee and a smile. And I was in a good mood until the end of the shift.
Such moments make even an ordinary day cheerful. And they remind me that not everything is so serious in this life.
