Summer for me is always associated with raspberries. Every summer my grandmother and I would go to the garden and pick them by the handful. I would come home with scratched hands and red lips.
Grandma always laughed: "You ate more than you collected!"
I answered: "That's tastier!"
We cooked jam, and the kitchen turned into a sweet paradise.
I loved to spread fresh bread and pour raspberry syrup over it. It was my favorite taste of childhood. And to this day, when I buy raspberries, I always remember my grandmother.
Now I want to preserve these traditions. And someday - to cook jam with my children. And tell them stories about those raspberry holidays.
