I made tea, not ideal, a little stronger than usual and sat by the window. Behind it is a yard where children are always screaming, someone's dog is barking and they park so that you can't drive through. But today I suddenly noticed how the sun was shining on a red leaf stuck to the asphalt. Beautiful. And for some reason it became warmer inside.
Love is not about loud confessions. More often about these quiet "yes":
Yes, I will smile at my neighbor today.
Yes, I will buy this overripe banana, it smells like summer.
Yes, I wrote to my mother, even if I'm tired.
We so often wait for reasons to be happy, for the weekend, for a salary, for good news. But you can just start. With a little thing. With a deep sigh. With a look up, where a piece of sky is visible between the houses. Try to find one thing today that you can love just like that. Maybe it will be the glass from which you drink tea. Or the voice of the announcer in the podcast. Or even this blog of mine that you are reading now.
The main thing is not to wait for the perfect moment. It is already here, in this letter, in your hands, in the breath between the lines.
P.S. If suddenly nothing works out today, it’s not a big deal. Tomorrow will be a new day for love. And the day after tomorrow too.
