Trust doesn't fall from the sky. It doesn't “just happen” and it doesn't have to appear by default, even if there is love, passion or common goals between you.
Trust is a fragile bridge. It is built slowly, step by step. And it is tested not in easy times, but when something went wrong: when someone was late, didn't tell you, failed, forgot, distanced.
In personal relationships, trust is the ability to be yourself, knowing you won't be judged.
In business, it's the foundation on which deals, teams, and reputations are held.
In community, it's what makes us stronger together, not alone.
It's a paradox: we all want to be trusted, but we're often afraid to trust ourselves. Because that's vulnerability. It's a risk. It's recognizing that the other person may not live up to your expectations. And still you remain.
But that's where the power lies. Not control. Not jealousy. Not the perpetual wariness. It's in saying, “I know you're human too. But I choose to believe you.”
And if two people make that choice towards each other, there is a space between them where you can be yourself.
