But the years passed, and I began to see something else.
True love is not always about passion. Sometimes it is about submission. About how a person dissolves in you, loses boundaries, is more afraid of losing you than he is afraid of himself.
The power of love is not always soft.
It can be harsh. It demands that a person give you everything - his thoughts, his weaknesses, his decisions. And the more he gives, the more you dominate. Not on purpose, not evil. It just happens when you are loved completely.
And suddenly you notice:
he is in the dust before you.
And you are no longer sure if you want such power.
Because power is not happiness.
It is responsibility.
And it does not have the ease that you once sought in “I want you right now.”
Now I am careful.
I no longer confuse love with desire.
I no longer confuse devotion with losing yourself.
