🥦⚔️ 🤯 vegetarian vikings? or how history tricks us again and again...
id: 10053148

When you hear “Vikings,” you probably picture a bearded beast with an axe, roasting meat over fire after a brutal raid. But—plot twist! Archaeologists have found plenty of evidence that those tough guys ate a lot of plants. Lentils, cabbage, barley, onions... not exactly a BBQ party, right?

Even more shocking: some Viking communities focused more on farming than raiding. Yup, instead of stealing, they were sowing.

And the mighty Roman legions? You’d think their diet was all about meat and wine, but often they got… vegetarian stew. Seriously. Beans, grains, flatbread. Not very gladiator-esque, huh?

Turns out, history isn’t all about glory and gore. It’s also about everyday people — eating soup, worrying about crops, and just trying to get by.

So next time you hear some epic historical tale... maybe ask yourself: “Was it really like that?” 😉
