How to stay in resource when everything is out of control?
id: 10056985

As a psychologist with many years of experience, I will say honestly: “keeping yourself in hand” in moments of chaos is not an easy task. But it is in these moments that our inner support is tested. And everyone has it.
First, stop. Literally. Take a break. Our brain turns on the “fight or flight” mode when stressed. To even out your breathing and regain control, 60 seconds of silence is enough. Yes, it is so simple and so powerful.
Second, determine your zone of influence. What can you really change right now? We lose resources when we try to control the uncontrollable: the behavior of others, the future, the past. But we can choose our reaction, tone, actions.
Third, switch to the body. Physical activity, water, breathing, this is the basis that returns you to the moment “here and now”. Even if the whole world is falling apart, a sip of water and a few deep breaths are an anchor.
And lastly, stop being a hero on your own. Asking for help is not weakness, but maturity. Strong people know how to rely on others.
Chaos is not always an enemy. Sometimes it is a chance to build everything differently, in a new way. The main thing is to stay on your side!
