I was born and raised in Ukraine, and every year I understand more and more how much I love my country.
Everything here is saturated with life: the aroma of blooming gardens in spring, the gold of wheat in summer, the rain on old streets in autumn and sparkling snow in winter.
This is the land of strong people, gentle songs and endless horizons.
We have one special magic here - Ukrainian borscht. But more about it later 😉
I grew up in a small town where everyone knows each other, where the smell of fresh bread in the morning stretches through the streets, and grandmothers on benches discuss the weather, politics and... your personal life.
I spent my childhood on the river bank, where we fished in the summer and sledded in the winter, falling and laughing like only children can.
Would you like me to tell you a funny story?
One spring I decided that I had to learn to dance the hopak.
Not just dance, but like a real Cossack - with jumps, squats and all that crazy energy.
A week later my legs were begging for mercy, but I didn't give up. But I did it. 😂😂😂 They say my hopak has character 😊
I love to share the warmth of my country, its smells, tastes and soul.
And now - the promised question 😉
Have you ever tried real Ukrainian borscht?
With a ruddy bun, garlic sauce and sour cream, cooked with love and a pinch of soul...
If not, I'll be happy to cook it for you.
And if yes, tell me what it was like, and we'll discuss how to make it even tastier 😉
