Love on an app: why finding love online was harder than i thought
id: 10056523

Registration, application form, a few nice photos, a short description of yourself. It would seem that everything is simple. But from the first days I understood - it is not at all the same romance as in the movies. Instead of inspiration - exhaustion, instead of butterflies - doubts. Here are a few things that were unexpected for me:

1. Huge choice... and zero emotions
When you are given the opportunity to choose from hundreds of profiles, your eyes run wide. But the more people, the less chance you have to focus. People merge into a single feed - name, age, description "I love traveling", photos from the gym. Where is the authenticity?

2. Superficiality is the new norm
Here they are judged by a few photos. Sometimes it feels like no one even reads the description, does not try to get to know the person deeper. If there is no perfect shot from the Maldives - scroll further.

3. Inequality of intentions
Some are looking for a serious relationship, some are looking for a one-night stand, and some are just bored. And in this chaos, finding someone with whom you have similar expectations is a real challenge.

4. Communication without continuation
With dozens of correspondences, only a few turn into something more. People easily disappear, even if there was contact between you. Virtual reality creates the illusion that you can always find a "better one".

But I don't give up
Yes, it's harder than I thought. But in this process, I got to know myself better. I learned to filter, set boundaries, not to be silent when something doesn't suit me. And I believe that love will find its way - maybe not immediately, not through an app, but it will definitely find it.

Because in the end, it's not about the app. It's about sincerity. And the willingness to be real - even in the age of swipes.
