Why self-care is sometimes not about my appearance, but about me
id: 10057169

When I first started taking an interest in self-care, I thought it was all about appearance — beautiful makeup, well-groomed nails, perfectly styled hair. But over time, I realized that self-care is much more than just trying to look better. It’s a time when I can stop, listen to myself, and re-experience what it means to be alive and whole.

In a world where everything moves at breakneck speed, when you need to solve a bunch of problems, be productive, and keep up, it’s easy to get lost and forget about the most important thing — yourself. I often noticed that under the pressure of everyday affairs, my inner energy is drained, my mood is spoiled, and feelings of happiness become rare and fleeting.

And then I began to pay attention to my little self-care rituals, which previously seemed superficial. For example, a face mask is not just a way to make your skin more beautiful, but a time to close your eyes, listen to music, breathe slowly and immerse yourself in yourself. In these moments, I forget about external irritants and just exist.

I think it is very important not only to take care of yourself externally, but also to allow your soul to rest. These minutes when you slowly apply oil to your hands or gently massage your face become a kind of meditation. I like to feel every movement, the warmth of my hands, the smell of my favorite products - it's like coming home, to my true self.

One evening, after a particularly hard day, I made myself a bath with aromatic oils and added rose petals to the water. It was like a small miracle. I immersed myself in the warmth of the water, closed my eyes and felt how the tension leaves my body, and my thoughts become clearer. In such moments, I understand that self-care is not only an external ritual, but also a way to fill myself with strength and love for myself.

I often ask myself: what small habits help me maintain internal balance? How to find time for tenderness and care in the hustle and bustle of everyday life?

Sometimes I take a minute to just breathe, feel my heart beating in my chest, and thank myself for being here and now. It sounds simple, but for me it is a real gift.

How often do we forget to listen to our feelings and needs, afraid of seeming weak or selfish? But it is these small pauses, moments of care that make us stronger and happier.

When I take care of myself, I seem to say to myself: you are important, you are loved and you deserve the best. This is not a superficial gesture - it is a deep connection with myself that helps me be in harmony with the world.

I guess that is why I love my job so much - because through beauty you can not only change your external image, but also help a person feel happier, more confident and softer.

What are your self-care rituals? How do you find balance in the daily hustle and bustle?

For me, self-care has become a kind of language of love - for the body, for the soul, for life. And I am grateful for every day when I can give myself this little holiday.
