Sometimes I put on perfect makeup, and then I just… stay home. No meetings, photos, or events. Just because I want to. Because I feel that today I am — red lips, a smoky eye, and a little “character” on my face.
Sometimes it’s like armor, sometimes it’s like body language. And sometimes it’s the opposite: I go out somewhere without makeup at all. Not because I’ve “accepted myself,” but because I don’t care. There are days when I’m eyes without mascara, tousled hair, and silence.
And you know, in every version of myself I am real.
Makeup is not for beauty. For mood. For myself. In order to look in the mirror in the morning and say:
“Hello, you’re different today. And it’s a blast.”
