There are dishes on the menu that I walk past with my eyes, like an ex at a party - silently, but with an understandable expression on my face. Not because they are not tasty. But because there are things that should either be made at home or not done at all❤️
For example, I never order pasta with chicken. 🍝🐔 It's like socks on a date - it seems practical, but it's boring to the point of yawning. Pasta is about passion, about cream, about parmesan, about dipping bread in sauce and not thinking about your figure. And chicken... let it stay in the fitness lunch.
The second taboo is sushi with cream cheese. 🍣 Seriously, the Japanese would cry. It's like someone coming to the opera with popcorn. The taste is neither here nor there. It's better to try real tuna once than dozens of rolls with mayonnaise in the shower.
And yes, I never order a dessert with a name like "Chocolate Fantasy". 🍫 If the name has more effort than the dish itself, this is an alarming sign. Often, behind this is an ordinary cupcake with melted ice cream and strawberries from the supermarket. No, thank you. Better honest tea and a good conversation.
Respect for food is not snobbery. It's about the taste for life. About choosing not the most familiar, but what really pleases. Even if it's just a bowl of soup - but real, with soul, and not from the category "just to have it".
So I know for sure: there are dishes that are not ordered. They are either too fake or too boring. And life is too short to waste it on boring food. 🥂
