When are we young, and when does aging begin?

📌 What is considered youth?
Youth is not only the number of candles on the cake. It is the state of the body, psyche and self-perception. Nevertheless, it is customary to distinguish the following age stages:

Up to 25 years - biological youth in full bloom. The body grows, strengthens, the person reaches a physiological peak.

25-35 years - is considered late youth. Physical fitness is still at its best, but the first signs of a slowdown in metabolism and hormonal changes are beginning to form.

35-45 years - a transitional stage, often called mature youth. Most people no longer have the same energy as at 25, but experience and psychological stability are growing.

➡️ Conclusion: In the biological sense, a person under 35 years old can be considered “young”, and in modern psychological perception - even up to 40, especially with an active lifestyle.

🧬 And when does aging begin?
Aging is a natural biological process that does not happen in one day. It begins unnoticed and gradually:

From the age of 25, collagen production slows down, skin regeneration worsens.

From the age of 30–35, the levels of some hormones begin to decrease, metabolism slows down, and mild fatigue appears.

From the age of 40, tissue elasticity worsens, problems with vision and joints may appear, and muscles recover less often after exercise.

From the age of 50 and on, an accelerated decline in many physiological functions is already observed.

➡️ Conclusion: aging begins at the cellular level at 25–30 years, but becomes apparent outwardly closer to 40–50 years, depending on lifestyle, genetics, and environment.

🎭 Why is age also psychology?
An interesting paradox: according to surveys, most people consider themselves "young at heart" much longer than their passport numbers suggest.

40-year-olds feel 30.

60-year-olds - 45.

And some 80-year-olds lead a more active life than many 25-year-olds.

👉 This is because mood, activity, and passion for life affect the feeling of age no less than the condition of the skin or joints.

💡 How to stay young longer?
Active lifestyle and sports.

Healthy eating.

Mental activity, learning new things.

Social activity and positive thinking.

Ability to cope with stress and get enough sleep.

So, let's sum it up:
Youth in biology ends at about 35-40 years, but psychologically it can last much longer.

Aging begins at 25 years, but the speed of its manifestation is individual.

A person ages when he stops wanting to live actively, and not when the first wrinkles appear.

Age is a number. True youth is energy, purpose and passion for life.
