But let's figure it out: what kind of "truth" is this and why is it hidden in an argument?
IS AN ARGUMENT A DIALOGUE OR A FIGHT?
There are different types of arguments: An intelligent argument with arguments, facts and respect. A rarity. Like a panda on a scooter.
An emotional argument, where the main thing is to have time to say louder "you just don't understand!"
And the third type is an argument with neighbors about parking. Here, truth is not born, but dies in agony.
But! There is a bright side: when two sides really listen to each other, you can discover unexpected views on life... or at least understand why someone eats borscht without sour cream.
HOW IS TRUTH BORN?
Through arguments. When an argument is based not on "I feel this way" but on facts, the chances of truth increase.
Through respect. Without shouting and name-calling. Truth is like a cat - it won't work if the house is noisy.
Through compromise. Sometimes truth is not one point of view, but a bridge between two.
But if you are arguing with a grandmother who is sure that raspberries cure everything - give in. This is not an argument, it is sacred.
CONTROVERSIAL SITUATIONS WHERE TRUTH STUBBORNLY IS NOT BORN:
Who should take out the trash?
How many minutes to cook a soft-boiled egg?
Whose TV series is better - yours or his?
The ideal room temperature.
Who to call if the cat is stuck in the closet?
Sometimes it is better to leave the truth alone and... go for a hug.
A SMALL CONCLUSION:
In an argument, truth can indeed be born. The main thing is not to forget why you are arguing. To prove your case or to find common ground?
And if the truth is not born - well, you can always give birth to a joke, eat a cookie and offer to continue the conversation in a more comfortable atmosphere... with ice cream.
