For a long time, I thought that happiness is when everything is perfect. No problems, no quarrels, no fatigue. But then I realized: happiness is when you have three stupid things that will pull you out of any hole by your ears.
The first is chocolate. 🍫 Yes, the most ordinary one. With or without nuts - it doesn't matter. I put it aside until the very end of the day. It's like a little medal: "You did it, well done." Even if the day was terrible and nothing worked out - I eat this piece and say to myself: "It's okay, you'll try again tomorrow."
The second is dancing in the room. 💃 I turn on a song, often something from an old pop song, and start waving my arms like a child. I laugh at myself. Sometimes I sing. My neighbors probably think I'm weird. But it's the only way to shed the weight when everything inside me is clenching.
The third is a call to a friend. 📞 We can chat for hours about nothing. She'll tell you about her new nails, I'll tell you about the tea I spilled on my white T-shirt. No one is trying to save the world or give each other advice. We just listen.
I know many will say now: "There are much more important things than chocolate and silly dancing." Let them talk. There are so many serious things in life that at least these small joys don't have to be shared with anyone.
Sometimes I think: maybe happiness isn't about global things at all? Maybe it's about the fact that you just bought yourself your favorite chocolate and didn't forget that you can be funny?
That's how I save myself. Chocolate, dancing, and chatter. Three stupidities. And three anchors. ⚓
