I wake up not from the alarm clock, but from the light seeping through the curtains. I pour myself a cup of coffee. I walk around barefoot. And I think how little I need to be happy.
Perhaps summer is meant to remind us that we have the right to pause. For long evenings without plans. To meetings without any needs. To looks that don't need words. Just to be. Just being.
And again I catch myself thinking how nice it would be to share this peace with someone. It's not necessary to invent something, but just to sit next to each other, touch shoulders, and watch the sunset in silence. To know that you are felt even in silence.
If we were together now, where would we be? Perhaps somewhere in a small cafe. Or maybe on the roof of a building where you can see the whole city. Or on a picnic in the middle of a field. I don't care where, as long as I'm with the right person. Maybe it will be you?
Because summer is not about the weather. It's about a state of mind that allows itself to be a little carefree. And a little bit in love.
What does summer mean to you?
Warmth,
Marina
