Places where i left a piece of myself

I love going back to places I haven’t been yet. It sounds strange, but that’s how I feel the world — like an endless “yet.” Sometimes I open a map and just put my finger anywhere. That’s how I came up with my favorite places — not tourist guides, but points on the map where I felt lighter.

For example, a village in the mountains, where the air smells of cheese and firewood. There I woke up in a cold house, made coffee in an old Turk, and watched the clouds scratch the rocks.

Or a small seaside town where there are no beaches with sun loungers — but there are rocks, seagulls, and fishermen with whom you can trade fresh fish for a can of local wine.

And I also love cities that are older than all my worries. Rome, where you can get lost and stumble upon a street that is not in the guidebooks. There I found a bookstore where the seller let me drink coffee between the shelves and did not ask why I came.

Places worth seeing are not always the most famous. Sometimes it is a field by the highway, where you stop the car just to hug someone under the sound of the wind. Sometimes it is an old coffee shop at the train station, where you sit with a suitcase and dream about where you will go next.

I still can’t make a top 5. But I can say for sure: if a place touches you even once, you will never return from there the same.

Where would you go tomorrow if you had no plans and responsibilities? Where would you like to get lost now?
