I'm not one of those who say: "Don't worry, everything will pass." Sometimes nothing passes. Sometimes everything inside burns so loudly that you can't hear your own thoughts.
I used to try to "just not think." I turned on music, distracted myself, argued with myself. But the noise inside — it's smarter. It waits for a break.
I found my anchors. Sometimes it's green tea in an old mug. Sometimes — other people's lines in books that I read on my phone, lying on the kitchen floor. Sometimes — long walks without a route. And I also got into the habit of talking to myself honestly every week. Why am I angry? Why am I scared? What do I want to escape from?
I don't need gurus or lists of tips. Everything that helps me not to fall apart grows inside me. Sometimes you just need to turn off your phone and turn on the silence.
What do you have in your soul medicine cabinet? Is there something you only take out when the world is too loud?
