My morning on the mat and how i learned to be friends with yoga and myself
id: 10047282

I was not a flexible girl. I never did the splits, I could not touch my toes. But I knew how to tense up. Always and in everything. My back hurt from stress even before I understood the word "stress".

Yoga entered my life not as a workout - as a chance to come to an agreement with myself. The first attempts were funny: the mat slipped, the cat lay on my face, and I was angry more than relaxed.

But something held me. Probably small victories: when you suddenly feel how you breathe deeper. Or how your shoulders stop being raised forever. And most of all I love the morning - when the whole house is still asleep, and I roll out the mat, as if opening a new day.

It's not about asanas or perfect Instagram photos. It's about learning to listen to your body. And about how to be with it without being formal.

I haven't become a super yogini. But every morning, standing on the mat, I think: "Thank you that we're still together." Sometimes that's enough.

Do you have a morning ritual that makes your day better?
