Charlotte is like a hug in the form of a pie. Simple, fast, delicious and always appropriate. It can be baked from almost nothing, but the result is as if you visited your grandmother in the village, where it smells of apples, cinnamon and happiness.
Today I'm sharing with you the perfect recipe for a classic charlotte, which has been tested on dozens of Sunday evenings. Cook with love - and it will be simply magical 💛
🍏 Recipe for charlotte for tea
🧺 Ingredients:
Apples - 3-4 medium (preferably sour)
Eggs - 3 pcs.
Sugar - 150 g (about ¾ cup)
Flour - 150 g (¾ cup)
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Vanilla sugar - 1 tsp (optional)
Cinnamon - ½ tsp (optional)
Butter - for greasing the pan
Icing sugar - for decoration
🥣 Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a baking pan (20-24 cm in diameter) with butter and lightly sprinkle with flour or cover with parchment.
Apples: Peel and cut into slices. Place the apples in a mold in a dense layer. You can sprinkle a little cinnamon on top - this will add flavor.
Dough:
In a bowl, beat the eggs with sugar until fluffy and light (5-7 minutes with a mixer).
Sift the flour with baking powder (and vanilla sugar, if using), add to the egg mixture. Mix carefully with a spatula.
Assembly: Pour the dough over the apples. It should completely cover the fruit.
Baking: Put in the oven for 35-45 minutes, until golden brown and a skewer comes out dry. Do not open the oven for the first 30 minutes, so that the pie does not sink!
Serving: Cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with tea or coffee ☕️ You can with a scoop of vanilla ice cream - this is already a gastronomic delight!
✨ I recommend everyone to bake a charlotte at least once - and you will fall in love. Let it become your ritual of warmth and home comfort. And if you add a little love to the dough - you will get not just a pie, but real magic 💫
