Returning to myself through silence

I used to be afraid of silence. It seemed like it was too loud. But now I choose one day every week - my day of silence. I don’t answer, I don’t correspond, I don’t turn on the TV.
This is my space.

I go to the forest, collect herbs whose names I don’t even know, or I sit for hours with a cup of tea by the window. At first it was strange: not sharing thoughts with anyone, not planning, not reacting. But later I noticed that it was in these moments that I finally hear myself.

The world didn’t collapse. No one was offended. And I returned from the silence with a clear head and a warm heart.
