Sometimes I think how to convey these feelings in the modern world? After all, Ukrainian traditions are not only old songs or embroidery for holidays. It is how you treat people, how you respect your parents, how you take care of your home. It is love in the details. In the way you meet a person with your gaze. How you hold their hand firmly, but gently.
My grandmother said, the main thing for my child is the soul. And you know, her words have remained. And I have a dream that there would be a man next to me with whom we would create our traditions. Somewhere between the holiday of Ivan Kupala and Sunday coffee under the blanket. So that our love would be as bright as a Ukrainian towel, with symbols that are understandable only to us.
I don’t know when it will happen. But I believe, as our ancestors believed, in the power of song, love and bread and salt on a towel.
And for now I’m here. I write. And I quietly believe in a miracle. And you?
With warmth,
Marina
