I used to just turn on the first TV series I came across and get bored by the third episode. Now I have my own system. Not because I'm a bore, but because it's important to me how I live my evening.
If I'm tired and want to feel like everything will be fine, I choose a cozy drama where the characters drink tea instead of shooting. For example, "This Is Us" or "Anne with an E".
If the day was too smooth and I want chaos, I turn on something with daring twists. "Killing Eve", "Sharp Objects", "The Bear". It's important to me that the series swings my inner pendulum a little.
And if I'm in a light flirtation with reality, let it be romantic absurdity like "Emily in Paris" or "Younger". To not think, but just fall in love with dresses, coffee and nonsense.
I even have a notebook where I write down impressions. Not because it is important - but because I like to leave traces for myself. Traces of my states.
And in fact, we do not choose TV series. We choose what emotions we want to envelop ourselves with. I just did it more consciously. Try it.
