I don’t have a luxurious evening ritual, I don’t drink matcha in a crystal glass and I don’t go to bed with an aroma candle on my pillow. But every evening I do five simple things that make the morning so that I want to live, and not just wake up.
The first is that I remove all unnecessary things from the bed. No, I don’t clean in the style of “putting my life in order”, I just hate waking up to chaos. Clothes, a blanket, scattered cosmetics — everything disappears. I love waking up in freedom, even if it’s just a smooth duvet cover.
The second is that I rub my body with lotion that smells like coconut and vanilla. I don’t need a reason to feel desired — even at night, even alone. I just know that in the morning my skin will be soft and the sheets will smell like me. And that makes me warmer.
The third thing is to turn on music without words. Usually it’s soft electro jazz or slow beats. It sets my breathing. I lie down, listen, and understand: the day is over. That’s it, enough thinking.
The fourth thing is a couple of pages from a notebook. I don’t keep a diary, but I write down my feelings. What I felt, what I dreamed about, what I was grateful for this day. Sometimes it’s one sentence, sometimes a whole story. But still — only for myself.
And the fifth, my very own — I leave the thing I’m going to put on in the morning on the floor. A thin T-shirt, a lace top, shorts. Not because I have to, but because it’s like an invitation to a new day. I wake up, and the thing is already waiting. It’s not about planning — it’s about the mood.
These five actions are not rules. This is my "I love myself" in evening form. And yes, I like waking up feeling like I matter. To myself.
