Is it possible to love two people at once? 🤔

On the one hand, you know that love is something whole, indivisible. But on the other hand, it seems like feelings don’t listen and burst out in different directions.

Catholicism teaches that love is not just emotions, but a gift that cannot be divided in half ❤️. It’s like a candle: one small spark can illuminate all the darkness, but if you divide it, the fire goes out. So the heart is one, and if it truly loves, it cannot love on two fronts.

But what to do when two different stories, two different feelings live inside you? How to deal with this if you yourself are at a loss and do not want to betray either of them? 😕 This is not just falling in love - it is something deeper that tears you apart, but does not tear you apart completely.

It seems to me that such dual love is a test. A test for the soul and for faith. I want to understand where is true love, and where is just an illusion or a desire for something more. After all, in Catholicism, love is a choice, devotion and responsibility. It requires a full heart, not halves.

On the other hand, feelings do not choose when and how to appear. They just are. And sometimes they make us doubt ourselves, our beliefs, what is right and what is wrong. Perhaps this is the very path to understanding ourselves and our true desires.

I wonder how others cope with this? Maybe someone knows how not to lose yourself when two fires are raging inside? 🔥🔥 Or maybe I'm just overcomplicating it, and everything is actually simpler than it seems?

These are the thoughts in my head today. Have you ever had moments when your heart seemed to divide and wanted everything at once? How can you survive this without losing yourself?
