One day I woke up at 4:22. Just like that. The city was still dark, only streetlights. And then it began to get light. And I went out onto the balcony - barefoot, with a blanket and without a phone. I didn’t expect anything special, I just wanted to breathe. But it was on that day that I realized what silence looks like that is not scary.
⠀
Since then, I have met sunrises on purpose.
⠀
In the car, listening to The xx.
On the shore, sitting right on the sand.
In the city, when you walk with someone in silence and coffee in your hands.
⠀
The best way to meet the sunrise is not to plan it. Just to be where it can begin.
⠀
My favorite is on the roof. Where it's a little windy, you can see everything and no one bothers you. I have a blanket that smells like cherries and air conditioning. I wrap myself up, drink cocoa and just watch the world change colors.
⠀
I haven't met some sunrises alone. We talked nonsense, laughed, froze. Then we ate croissants from a bag and didn't want it to end.
⠀
Sunrise is not about the sun. It's about the moment when you understand that something is just beginning.
⠀
If you want to feel alive, set your alarm for 4:40, go outside, sit wherever you want, be silent.
