Why do many men love all sorts of "quiet" hobbies?

I would probably start to get bored after twenty minutes, get distracted, take pictures of the sky and clouds, and then go home for tea ☕️.

But I noticed one funny thing. When a man does something so "slow", some special calm appears in his eyes. As if the world at that moment stops touching him. No calls, no business, no eternal rush. Just him and this little activity of his. Perhaps this is the secret - the silence inside. Sometimes I even envy them, honestly. After all, I'm used to doing something all the time, running, thinking, going through plans for the future. And they know how to just SIT and wait. And get a thrill from it.

Maybe this is the difference between us? We look for emotions, communication, movement, and men can be happy in complete silence. And it seems to me that for them, such moments are like a “reset” button. While they are there with a fishing rod, the world around them seems to become simple and understandable again. Perhaps that is why they come back so happy, even if they didn’t catch anything.

Sometimes I want to try the same. Just turn off everything around and sit, look at the water, listen to it rustle, and not expect anything. Maybe this is real freedom - when you feel good without events and noisy stories.

Do you have an activity that makes you seem to disappear from the world, but returns you to yourself? I think everyone should have their own little “place of silence” 🌿.
